Code/UDC 101

What is a Unified Development Code (or UDC)?

A UDC is the set of regulations that guide the use and development of land in the city. It establishes standards for zoning, housing types, landscaping, parking, signage, and more. The UDC will help Pearland:

  • Guide growth and development so Pearland continues to thrive.

  • Ensure consistency and transparency in how rules are applied.

  • Reflect community goals by aligning development with Pearland’s vision for the future.

Updating the UDC ensures these rules remain clear, flexible, and responsive to the needs of a growing community.
